Empowerment is what happens when the Love The Everglades Movement team ventures into a diversity of various communities to share the healthy lessons taught to us by our Everglades.
Through engaging workshops, presentations, and hands-on activities, we connect with schools, organizations, living facilities, and any open space available to share the importance of our Everglades to our lifestyle and culture.
Our goal is to inspire both collective and individual practices that appreciate the beauty of our Everglades and our place within her. Join us on this path to empower those around you right from your own community.
A symposium is a formal gathering or conference where experts in a specific field present and discuss their research, ideas, and findings. Typically, it includes a series of presentations or lectures followed by discussions and networking opportunities. Symposia are often organized by academic institutions, professional organizations, or industry groups to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
The Love The Everglades Movement is a community of experts with vast and diverse insights into a wide range of engaging topics within and surrounding Everglades matters.
A few of these topics include:
Through these speaking opportunities, we aim to enhance, educate, inspire, and foster a deeper comprehension and respect for the interconnectedness of ourselves and life around us. By sharing knowledge and engaging in meaningful dialogue, we strive to encourage action towards healthy Everglades stewardship, indigenous sovereignty, a stronger love of oneself individually, and cultural appreciation.
In addition to speaking engagements, The Love The Everglades Movement team orchestrates Land Acknowledgments in partnership with all people and organizations of our Everglades region as part of our commitment to honor and recognize the indigenous peoples as the original stewards of these lands we discuss and operate within. Our team is committed to supporting the participation of these acknowledgments at events and gatherings to further fostering awareness and respect for the historical and ongoing connections between indigenous communities, their traditional territories and all communities who are active within them today. This practice is a vital step in our journey towards reconciliation, reciprocity, comprehension, and building a deeper connection with ourselves as a diverse community and the health of all living systems around us.
Empowering our community through “Voter Education,” a key initiative designed to inform and inspire action on policies affecting our Everglades and beyond. Recognizing the power of the ballot, we aim to provide comprehensive resources and information that highlight the importance of self-love and stewardship in the voting process. Our goal is to ensure that voters are well-informed about the propositions and policies that have direct impacts on indigenous rights and the health of the water, air, and living systems all around us. Through workshops, informational sessions, and online resources, Love The Everglades Movement is building a knowledgeable electorate that prioritizes policies fostering a strong, healthy, self-reliant, inclusive, and equitable economy for all.
